PATRICK CROWLEY, ABMT has been studying the body and movement
for 27 years as a bodyworker, dancer, yogi, martial
artist, and athlete. He took his bodywork class in Jin
Shin Do as a senior in High School in New York City. He
was certified in Western and Eastern massage and shiatsu
by Sensie Toshiko Phipps at the Nippon Shiatsu Daigaku
in Putney Vermont in 1993. He was also National
Certified in Massage and Bodywork in 1993. He has
continually trained since then in various forms, the
most influential being Craniosacral Therapy, Visceral
Manipulation, and Body Mind Centering. His other
training includes: Contact Improvisation, yoga.
contemplative movement, mixed-ability dance,
Experiential Anatomy, Developmental Movement, ceremonial
Longdances, New Dance Technique, Action Theater,
Playback Theatre, vipassana meditation, disabilities
work, Budo Taijutsu, shamanic studies, somatics,
communication, and leadership development. Currently he
is performing with
Zany
Angel Dance Theatre Company in Florence, MA, having
recently performed at the Boulder Fringe Festival. He
has taught nationally and internationally in Contact
improvisation and Dance Improvisation. He co-leads
ceremonial
Longdances four
times a year. His teachers of embodiment have
included: Nancy Stark Smith, Sensei Toshiko Phipps,
Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, Sara White, Bob Dunham, Susan
Schell, Carolyn Sadeh, Nirinjin Kaur Khalsa, Angela
Farmer, Victor van Kooten, and Mark Davis. He is a
member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals.
